What will the apprentice be doing?

You will be trained to carry out the following responsibilities

  • Understand and create product codes
  • Create bills of materials including labour timings
  • Create new product / case labels using the software provided
  • Understand and create EAN barcodes
  • Understand commodity codes and apply them to products
  • Solving problems with works orders
  • Solving transaction problems with warehouse / quality management issues
  • Maintaining patents
  • Understand all aspects of product codes and general maintenance of these including updating information / obsoleting / making active etc.
  • Acquiring good general knowledge of raw materials, bought in finished products and manufactured products
  • Becoming involved in all areas of the supply chain function - including Purchasing,Logistics, Inventory and Materials Management.
  • Any other general office duties as required

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Standard: Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship.

Delivery model:

  • Work-based training with your employer.
  • 10 days college attendance to complete the Business Professionals course - 1 day per week, at either Abingdon or Witney campus.
  • Approximately 12 on-site assessment visits per year.
  • L2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (7 days at college for each, if required).

Qualifications included:

  • L2 Functional Skills in English and Maths (if required).

End Point Assessment:

  • Knowledge test.
  • Portfolio based interview.
  • Project/improvement presentation.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Progression within the Supply Chain team, i.e Purchasing Executive, Stock Controller, etc.

Things to consider

Please consider how you will get to work / back home, as JSP is on a rural lane and not on a bus route. Please apply as soon as possible for this role.
