What will the apprentice be doing?

Working as an apprentice Civil Engineer at J Murphy & Sons you will learn alongside our experienced engineers how to be responsible for the daily control, management, and coordination of construction activities on site to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the required safety, environmental and quality standards.

With the support of your work-based mentor, your responsibilities will increase as your skills and technical knowledge develop.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

We have partnered with leading universities to deliver our degree apprenticeship. Teaching is delivered on a block release basis and you will be working towards achieving a BEng Civil Engineering. You will have the opportunity to apply your learning in the workplace and work towards gaining your incorporated engineer (IEng) status.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Following completion of this apprenticeship, you will continue to learn and develop your engineering knowledge as you work your way through the business. There will be the opportunity to work towards chartered engineer (CEng) status if that is your chosen career path with us.

This is a site-based position. Due to the remote location of some of our sites, it is essential that you hold, or are working towards gaining a full UK driving License.
