What will the apprentice be doing?

The successful candidate will not only be involved in every day stable and livery management, but also the exercising of all types of horses.

Some duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Feeding and turning in/out of horses
  • Stable management and maintenance
  • Grooming and show preparation
  • Exercising, including hacking & schooling

Due to the level of horses at this yard, if applicants do not already hold a level 2 in equine care they will need to show a extensive prior knowledge and experience with horses in their application to be considered. A level 2 would also be considered. 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment
  • The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 3 Senior Equine Groom Apprenticeship
  • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Future full-time employment at Tunstall will be available for the right candidate
