What will the apprentice be doing?

Barbering is all about making people look and feel great.  The greatest barbers understand their clients’ needs and have knowledge of new   products, the latest tools of the industry and most importantly key trends.

The barbering industry in continuously evolving with constant changes in fashion and the development of products, ground-breaking techniques and technology. The scientific research into hair care is at an all-time high and it is a truly exciting time to be in the industry.

 

You can commence your barbering career with a barbering apprenticeship. You will be mentored by a highly experienced team and have the best support possible.

For your part, you must be committed to your apprenticeship in the workplace and off the job training.

Your day to day duties will include:

  • Meet and greet clients in a friendly manner and be courteous at all times.
  • Taking care of clients in the salon.
  • Offer refreshments and magazines to clients.
  • Assist the barbers with client services and practice barbering skills.
  • Maintain salon cleanliness and work areas.
  • Answer telephone calls.

Training will be provided in the work place and lessons will be carried out one day per week at Oldham College.
