What will the apprentice be doing?

Key responsibilities:

  • Provision of technical support to 120+ colleagues, mostly remote users combined with frequent in person meetings
  • Ownership of issues, with a focus on customer service and communication keeping customers informed of progress
  • Maintenance and development of relationships with customers
  • Proactive identification of underlying problems / trends
  • Working with audio & video files
  • Assisting in the patching and maintenance of servers as appropriate
  • Monitoring and remediating software vulnerabilities
  • Monitoring of network backup status
  • Responsible for all administration duties as required by the position
  • Undertake other work or projects as required by the Systems Manager

Support to include:

  • Desktop and laptop hardware
  • Operating system applications and other software
  • Liaison with third party maintenance providers
  • Setting up equipment in meeting rooms for different types of meetings
  • Key applications (e.g. Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365)
  • Administration of all relevant systems

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

IT Solutions Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.

Throughout the Apprenticeship, an assessor will support you in demonstrating the required Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours to meet the Apprenticeship criteria. 

Functional Skills in math and/or English will be delivered for those who have not previously achieved. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Following successful completion of the apprenticeship, candidates will be considered for a full time, permanent position.
