A chance to kickstart a culinary career at a family-friendly, canal-side pub which offers an extensive menu of home-cooked food. Under the mentorship of the pub owner and Head Chef, the new recruit will play a key role in upholding the pub's high standards of superb service, quality meals and creating memorable dining experiences for customers.

What will the apprentice be doing?
You’ll assist the team in food preparation and production and menu development as well as keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and organised.
- Kitchen basics - cleaning, dishwashing, dealing with waste and recycling, food packaging and labelling and helping with food deliveries
- Learn importance of food and health safety as well as gaining practical skills - knife handling, using kitchen equipment, food preparation, cooking and stock control
- Progress to create your own recipes
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The candidate will follow a Level 2 Apprenticeship programme and study towards a full Level 2 Standard in Commis Chef. This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College – South & West. If the candidate does not hold GCSE grades A-C (9-4) or equivalent, they will be required to complete a Level 1 Functional Skill in the relevant subject.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Possible progression to Head Chef.
