What will the apprentice be doing?

1. To study for a Level 3 Business Administration qualification.
2. To work at all times according to the school aims/policies, staff handbook and Code of Conduct
3. Supporting Reception duties - taking/relaying messages, welcoming visitors etc.
4. Providing administrative support, undertake word-processing, secretarial tasks and complex IT based tasks ensuring all work produced (email, letters, reports etc) is of high quality
5. Record keeping/production of data/information and analysis
6. Utilising MS Outlook calendars and schedules to book appointments with internal and external persons, sometimes in conjunction with meeting room availability.
7. Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health, safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
8. To attend 5 PD days a year + 3 Additional Admin Days.
9. To safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils at all times in accordance with school ethos and policies.
10. To report to and be mentored by the School Business Manager for the area recruited to.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Business Administration Standard.

This will also include functional skills if required.

End point assessment 

Certificate of completion of the standard. 

You may have to attend formal college sessions (if English & maths are required).

You will learn the knowledge, skills and behaviours related to the apprenticeship standard.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

This is a fixed term contact of 21 months. You will gain many useful and transferable skills as well complete a level 3 apprenticeship standard within this role.

Things to consider

The post holder needs to be able to work in an environment with pupils who have severe/ profound learning disabilities and may have additional needs including complex medical needs/ behavioural difficulties, pupils who may have life-limiting conditions.
