What will the apprentice be doing?

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Ensure the Childcare facility is ready for use including food preparation, eating areas and play spaces, maintaining high standards within the setting
  • Prepare and implement planned activities, indoors and outdoors for children aged 3-11, following the lead from the Manager/Deputy Manager, including:
    - Setting up and clearing away of resources and equipment indoors and outdoors
    - Supporting group activities
    - Actively engaging with children
    - Contributing to displays of children’s work
  • Use initiative in developing children’s activities, discussing with the Manager/ Deputy Managers aspects around resources, space availability

  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Standard
  • Functional skills in Maths and English if required 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

To be a full time Early Years Practitioner within the school.
