What will the apprentice be doing?

As a Material Technician Apprentice at Eurotest, you’ll be involved in different tasks, as no two days are the same with us. You’ll be working in a laboratory, but not as you know it! Be prepared to get mucky as you get to know your materials. This won’t be a sterile environment and requires someone who’s not afraid to get stuck in.

Once you have completed your training period, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Carry out different types of tests on concrete, soils, and aggregates both, in the laboratory and on-site
  • Book samples and to report results when required
  • Calibrate and maintain the equipment allocated to you

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship Standard. 

Functional Skills Level 2 in maths and English (if required)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

As a well-established and reputable company, Eurotest could offer to the successful candidate a steady progression to more senior role such as Senior Technician or the chance to move into a more quality system-based role both of which, would include good financial reward.
