What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Working in our café - supporting Service users as part of their work experience, teaching them transferable life skills
  • Taking groups of between 3 and 5 Service users and planning purposeful sessions and projects to do with them. From craft to sports to IT!
  • Providing 1:1 support to meet the care and support needs of the individual

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • You will have one day a week for study. This will be onsite at college or here at Sweet Surprise. You will be supported and encouraged throughout your entire apprenticeship

You MUST be prepared to commit to your work and training for the duration of the apprenticeship. You will be required to have a telephone interview with Yeovil College prior to your application being passed on. About the employer

Our day service is a place for adults with learning disabilities and autism to practise their talents and develop practical skills whilst being an active part of our community. We alternate activities throughout the day and the week, which gives everyone a chance to develop a variety of skills. With several local work placements where our service users gain real life work experience, we also support them to work in our own café, kitchen and sweet shop.
