What will the apprentice be doing?
At MBDA, Manufacturing consists of Assembly, Integration and Test of all our products for the company. The products we make are delivered directly to the customer/end user and therefore Manufacturing are vital to the delivery aspects of MBDAs business.
Integral to the build of each and every one of our range of products are our Operations directorate. They work with our Engineers and design specifications, in an open place environment with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, to deliver on our commitment to our customers. They maintain the integrity of each and every one of our builds through the specialist work they do.
During your apprenticeship you'll get to experience the following placements:
- Printed Electrical Circuit Manufacturing
- Clean Room Assembly Processes
- Cable Manufacturing
- Missile Assembly
- Missile Integration
- Missile Test
- Calibration & Maintenance
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Your first year will be studying full-time at College. Years 2 to 4 you'll be studying 1 day per week at College with the remainder of your week onsite, experiencing different placements putting in to practice the practical skills you've been learning.
Study on this programme will be face to face and you'll achieve Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering awarded by IET.
Our Bolton site operates shift patterns; in order to maximise time working with experienced team members in the manufacturing hall, you may be expected to start shifts as early as 7am on a regular basis.
