What will the apprentice be doing?
Duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- You will work as part of team planning, monitoring, and evaluating activities for children aged from birth to 5 years of age
- You will work within early years development guidelines
- You will ensure their safeguarding and welfare and build positive relationships with the children, their families, colleagues, and external professionals
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Early years Educator apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.
This programme has a knowledge element which is delivered via 12 weekly twilight learning sessions at Derby Road campus in Mansfield, NG18 5BH.
This programme includes Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce.
This programme includes a Paediatric First Aid programme if not already covered as part of the induction process with the employer.
Aside from the 12 sessions at Derby Road, Mansfield, this is a work-based programme which means that all of your learning will take place on the site of your employment and within your contracted working hours.
You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills, and behaviours within the profession.
You will experience a blended learning model.
You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.
At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon completion of this level 3 apprenticeship, you will have a licence to practice. You will also have the entry requirements to progress onto either a level 4 or 5 qualification.
