What will the apprentice be doing?

  • As an apprentice you will learn all aspects of caring for children from the ages of 6 weeks old to 4 years old
  • You will take care of all of the children's needs whilst they are with us
  • Planning and setting up age related activities within a safe and loving environment
  • Making optimum use of the outdoor space for adventure and exploring
  • Building strong and positive relationships with children, parents and carers
  • You will keep up to date with all related coursework for your apprenticeship qualification

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will attend Boston College for one half-day per week where you will attend workshops delivered by industry trained staff. On successful completion of the course, you will achieve a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Little Goslings will look to retain their apprentice after successful completion of the apprenticeship, subject to funding.

Yon could also progress on to a Foundation degree, room leader, Nursery manager or teacher in the industry.

Things to consider

Many of the activities at Little Goslings are situated outdoors on the farm, in the garden, around the fields and sometimes even with the animals, therefore a love of the outdoors and no fear of getting dirty will be necessary for the right person. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Little Goslings is a unique service, set in 16 acres of farmland on the outskirts of the village of Kirton. Little Goslings is located on a working arable farm, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Boston, preserving the quiet and beauty of its natural surroundings. The setting provides the children with optimal access to the outdoors, whilst remaining in a safe, loving and nurturing environment. We provide high quality childcare for children aged from 6 weeks to three years, also offering care for older children during the school holidays. Our ethos is centred around the fantastic outdoor surroundings that Little Goslings has to offer. The sessions involve outdoor activities in the fields and woodland with the benefit of a wooden cabin and mud kitchen, gardening, a pond which provides nature learning, alongside boat rides. We believe that children have the right to quality childcare in a safe, well organised and attractive environment. This is reflected through the diverse range of indoor and outdoor experiences that Little Goslings has to offer. We have been inspected and are registered with OFSTED and received Good in all areas on our inspection.
