What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The successful candidate will develop beyond the Apprentice Hot Fire Test role, to that of a proficient test engineer working across all our engine and environmental test sites, supporting other functions such as engineering. Involvement in the design and development of Nammo's expanding test facilities could be expected, and successful candidates could progress to lead such initiatives in the future.

Things to consider

Duties will be performed in a facility requiring the frequent use of Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) and chemically resistant clothing to handle potentially hazardous substances, and working with high pressure gas systems. You will be required to pass a periodic basic medical examination.

Nammo Westcott, is a major supplier of chemical propulsion spacecraft manufacturers. Our rocket engines and thrusters serve commercial, defence and science markets. In 2016 it was a Nammo Westcott engine that provided the insertion burn to allow NASA’s JUNO spacecraft to successfully enter into orbit around Jupiter. Nammo Westcott currently has approximately 50 employees and has development, production, and test activities in a number of engines and thrusters for the space market.
