What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance - usually a whole day spent at sites such as schools, care homes and offices.
  • Reactive call outs - varying from one hour to a whole day and involve problem solving.
  • Small works projects - upgrading existing controllers and commissioning the new system

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 4 Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) Controls Engineer Apprenticeship
  • Training is mainly completed online and we would encourage being based from our office to undertake these tasks.  There are some modules that require attendance at the college site.
  • Training wil be one day a week, however there is the option for block release if preferred.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • BMS Service Engineer - progressing through to Senior BMS Service Engineer, BMS Service Engineer Manager
  • BMS Service Engineer - progressing through to Sales Engineer, Key Account Manager and/or Projects Manager

We mainly work within a 50 mile radius of Birmingham City Centre and it would be desirable if the successful candidate had means of transport.
