What will the apprentice be doing?

PETA are proud to be working with Silver Lining to support them with the recruitment and training of a new 1st Line IT Support Apprentice. The successful applicant will join the Technical Operations team based in the Fareham offices.

What will my new role involve?

Joining the team as a 1st Line IT Support Apprentice, you will start with basic responsibilities and slowly develop in your role to take on the following responsibilities:

  • Being the first point of contact for all incidents/requests via email and phone calls
  • Escalating issues when appropriate
  • Always provide efficient and professional customer support
  • Perform and maintain daily system checks
  • Updating IT records and documentation to ISO Standards
  • Site visits where appropriate
  • Installation/Maintenance/Configuration of a variety of Infrastructure, Networking and Telephony Equipment
  • Participating in a 24/7 on call rota
  • In addition to the duties listed above, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned to them

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

As a 1st Line IT Support Apprentice, you will be studying towards a level three ICT Support Technician apprenticeship. This apprenticeship is 22 months in length and will involve ongoing onsite training and mentoring from the Silver Lining team combined with 25 days of off the job training at the PETA training centre in Cosham.

  • PETA Server Fundamentals
  • PETA Security Fundamentals
  • 10 Quality of Life (QoL) training days
