What will the apprentice be doing?
The main purpose of the role is to assist in the smooth running of the practice by providing a range of support services within the general office function.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Open the post in the mornings and write cheques and deeds in the log book.
- Scan post onto the case management system
- Carry out photocopying required by other members of staff
- File retrieval and assisting the archivist
- Distribute mail to various fee earners which arrives into reception
- All filing when asked
- Order stationery when needed
- Go to town hall for trade refuse sacks when needed (NM office)
- Cover receptionists lunch break and comfort breaks and other times when asked. Also, to cover receptionist at other office if needed.
- Envelope and frank post. Hand deliver post to local businesses and take franked mail to the post box and Special Delivery mail to the Post Office
- Ensure that the franking machine is in credit and that there are franking labels
- Ensure that there is a supply of 1st class stamps (standard and large)
- Take banking to the Post Office
- Witness wills (if over 18)
