What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Performing machine pre-use safety checks and setting up the machine in the allocated time frame using the specific SOP
  • Continuous monitoring of the machine during production
  • Performing detailed process quality checks in accordance with the area SOP and in line with the published control plans and gauges provided 
  • Weekly autonomous and preventative maintenance
  • Performing minor adjustments when required and ensuring the area is maintained to the agreed housekeeping standards
  • Planning and organising tooling and equipment to operate their machine safely, effectively, and efficiently in line with the production plan
  • Adhere to company Health and Safety policies and procedures

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Engineering Technician Level 3
  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Mechatronics Maintenance Technician
  • Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) 
  • You will undertake the Apprenticeship which is completed in the workplace and also some attendance at Doncaster College 
  • 1 day a week

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Dependent on performance and aspiration. Symphony have progressed candidates all the way up to degree level qualifications.
