What will the apprentice be doing?

Working towards:

• Undertake daily checks and complete logs accordable
• Maintain a clean work area, equipment and plant, at commencement and throughout shift.
• Review all documentation within Job Packs (route cards, drawings etc.) prior to commencing NDT processes
• Review route card and ensure completion for prior operations before commencing work on any job – return to previous operation/s if not completed
• Handle, jobs appropriately to avoid damage at any stage of processing
• Inspect jobs prior to commencing work to ensure all necessary preparation has been undertaken correctly
• Carry out all processes in accordance with specifications and work instructions
• Complete all necessary paperwork, records and logs relevant to the job/s
• Undertake all necessary solutions samples and supply to laboratory for analysis
• Review solution additions, make additions as per analysis results and complete paperwork accordingly  
• Report any and all concerns regarding plant, equipment or solutions to the Site Manager
• Assist in other areas of the business when not undertaking main NDT activities
• Undertake all other reasonable requests from Management

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Apprentices are required to achieve industry-recognised NDT Level 2 certification in one method in accordance with national and international standards.

All training and learning to be delivered on site.

Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)


What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

GEB currently foresee full-time employment for the right candidate.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, employment will end automatically.

However, before the expected successful completion of the apprenticeship, the Company will review the possibilities for ongoing employment. If the Company makes an offer of ongoing employment, it will offer you a new employment contract.
