What will the apprentice be doing?

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Picking and packing orders for dispatch accurately and manging stock inventory on our bespoke system
  • Storing goods and re-arranging boxes when required
  • Moving stock around manually or using a pump truck
  • Working effectively and efficiently against time, to dispatch products as soon as possible
  • Taking in deliveries of goods and supplies and ensuring stock is correct to paperwork
  • Making sure the warehouse is kept clean, tidy, and safe.
  • Performing stock takes
  • Sorting customer returns
  • Professional phone manner for speaking to our clients
  • Customer services skills
  • Producing computer generate labels
  • Driving our forklift truck to put away stock and load pallets onto lorries/vans (upon when receiving a license)
  • Any other task required from time to time

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Apprenticeship Programme Available: Transport and Warehouse Operations Supervisor Level 3

Training: Monthly 1-1 sessions over Microsoft Teams with Learning Coach and a minimum of 6 hours per week spent training at PressPlay

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The successful warehouse operative apprentice will progress into a junior administrative position at PressPlay.

The successful candidate will have the following: • Numerate and literate and will be counting and receiving stock • Tidy and methodical • Hard working attitude • Computer skills • Concentration and attention to detail is a must • The ideal candidate must be a team worker but also capable of working on own initiative • You will need to be quick learner • Professional manner • You will be required to be active most of the day and the job will involve moving boxes so you will need to have an adequate fitness level and dedicated attitude to getting the job done.
