What will the apprentice be doing?

As a Manufacturing Apprentice you will integrate into a manufacturing team progressing from assisting to performing a variety of tasks from working in a variety of different departments. These will include:

  • Prepare and contribute to manufacturing operations
  • Understand health and safety in the glass industry
  • Use hand and power tools
  • Cut and assemble frames
  • Installing glass
  • Adding handle, locks etc
  • Cleaning
  • Inspecting and packaging
  • Carry out checks and highlight defects
  • Organising and arranging jobs in dispatch

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • You will gain an Apprenticeship as a Fenestration Fabricator at Level 2
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English (if required)
  • Regular training and development as required will be completed on site
  • Typically, one day a week will be given to allow for off the job training to completed at site

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The successful candidate may be given the opportunity of full-time employment upon completion of the apprenticeship, subject to company competency requirements being met by the candidate.

Things to consider

This role will be working in a manufacturing and production environment, where PPE will be required to be worn as issued and instructed at all times. Some lifting, pushing or pulling will be required in aspects of this role.
