This programme is aimed at those working within International Freight Forwarding. Freight Forwarding Specialists are responsible for a variety of tasks on a daily basis such as shipment bookings, creating the appropriate documents, liaison with carriers, ports and handling agents, transport requirements, sales quotations & invoicing.

What will the apprentice be doing?
The Air Logistics National Trucking team based in Manchester and London Heathrow Airports are providing a UK service to our customers whether collecting and delivering cargo to / from the airport Ground Handling Agents (GHA) for flight departures and arrivals, arranging Special dedicated Transport for urgent Express shipments or booking Temperature Controlled vehicles for pharmaceutical goods. Every day is busy with customer deadlines to meet but very rewarding and satisfying. Starting in Sept, our Air Logistics National Trucking Apprenticeship is a 18-month programme, combining practical on-the-job training with study towards the International Freight Forwarding Level 3 apprenticeship. You will work within a successful team while learning everything you need to know whilst supported by your peers, your managers, and the apprenticeship team.

- Truck route planning, volume utilisation, monitoring, customs compliance
- Supplier Management, improving performance, time management
Supporting our business vertical Sectors e.g. Pharmaceuticals plus much more
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- International Freight Forwarding Level 3
- Functional Skills Level 2 in maths and English if required
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Further progression may well be available in other areas within our sector, upon successful completion of the international freight forwarding specialist apprenticeship standard.
