What will the apprentice be doing?

Working on a major contractor's site, we have an opportunity for an apprentice to move into the construction industry. The apprentice will start working on a large site in the heart of Barking.

You will then gain a L2 Interior Systems Installer qualification, focusing on drylining. Drylining is a process of concealing electrics, insulating, and providing insulation and acoustics to a room or area.

As a drylining apprentice, the successful candidate will be involved with:

  • General construction site Health and safety
  • Reading drawings and diagrams
  • The makeup and structure of internal walls
  • Cutting and measuring sizes and angles of plasterboard
  • Plasterboard fixing to timber and metal frame
  • Walls finishes including joints seals and taping
  • Application of skim and sanding to perfect finish
  • Complete quality assurance checks

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Alongside working on site, you will receive formal training, delivered on a regular basis in the workplace, and work towards a Level 2 Interior Systems Installer apprenticeship qualification.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
