What will the apprentice be doing?

Castle Rock is a training focused company who believe in supporting their staff to achieve and become the best version of themselves that they can be. We have multiple sites across Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. If you are successful in this role you will not only gain experience from The Embankment, but also have the opportunity to work across some of our other sites.  

This opportunity is to work as an Apprentice chef to learn all aspects of work in a fast-paced, varied kitchen, including function catering and bespoke events. Working alongside a team of 3 qualified chefs, one other established apprentice and 3 kitchen porters.

Food at the Embankment is an exciting mix of creative and classic dishes from head chef Marc and the team, ranging from pub favourites like scampi and burgers to globally inspired meals including tacos and flatbreads.  

You will learn about the preparation, cooking and presentation of all menu items and the service of food. You will be trained on food storage, stock rotation and all elements of the kitchen.

Daily tasks 

  • Include cleaning & upkeep of the kitchen to maintain hygiene standards
  • 2 days off a week, shifts to be agreed
  • Holiday pay accrued over time

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will complete the Production Chef Level 2 including Health and Safety and Food Safety level 2

This will be undertaken at the Embankment, Nottingham with a dedicated Training consultant.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

It could lead to full time employment at the Embankment or Castlerock site.
