What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Delivery of a range of interventions to support targeted pupil learning
  • Support the delivery of PE lessons 
  • Lead extra-curricular activities
  • Run/organise and support physical activity and engagement at break and lunch times
  • Run/organise intra school competitions
  • Assist with school games competitions
  • Use of technology to engage pupils with physical activity and sports 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 2 Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship Standard. 

Level 2 Award in Multi-skills Coaching/Development in Sport (optional and subject to a £50 certification fee). 

Sector specific CPD, such as:

  • Supporting the PE curriculum
  • Behaviour Management
  • Practical PE Curriculum
  • Gymnastics
  • Dance 
  • Safeguarding / Prevent 
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing 
  • Functional skills in maths and English (where required)

35 hours per week Monday - Friday

The successful applicant will receive: Allocated mentor Access to internal training Access to apprenticeship training delivered by Aspire Training Solutions (as outlined above) Allocated learning hours within the working week The organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and anyone applying to work in our schools is expected to share this commitment. Therefore, this position is subject to receipt of an enhanced DBS disclosure. Travel between school sites is required daily. You may be required to work in two schools each day. One in the morning and another in the afternoon. You would be responsible for your own travel arrangements.
