Shield Ventilation Services are looking to recruit an apprentice welder to their team. We manufacture, supply and install ductwork ventilation.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

What will the apprentice be doing?
Within the job role, you will work alongside the shop foreman manufacturing ductwork for a variety of jobs. Skills learned will be:
- All aspects of TIG/MIG and Stick. They will also become familiar with the plasma cutter and will get trained how to use all machinery safely, our machinery is.
- Electric guillotine.
- Electric lock former.
- Electric spot welder.
- Electric swager.
- Hand rolling machines.
- General hand and power tools.
- All required health and safety certs i.e. CSCS, face fit, manual handling etc.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
One day college attendance per week.
General Welder (Arc Processes) Level 2 Standard.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The possibility of full-time employment on the successful completion of the apprenticeship.
