What will the apprentice be doing?

As part of the apprenticeship you will be responsible for general cleanliness of the salon, customer service and assisting the stylists where necessary. This will help you to gather more experience and skills and improve your knowledge of hairdressing. As a busy salon we pride ourselves on all staff working together to cover the customer's expectations.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals in Hairdressing covers all of the core knowledge and skills needed to become a competent Hairdresser, providing the learner with the opportunity to develop different skills by choosing from a selection of optional units. This qualification also includes an element of End-Point Assessment (EPA) which is assessed by a City & Guilds Independent End-point Assessor.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Learners achieving the Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals in Hairdressing can gain employment in a salon as a Hairdresser, carrying out day to day tasks such as: customer service, shampooing hair, cutting, styling and finishing and colouring and perming.

There is the opportunity for the right candidate to progress on to Level 3 Hair Professionals.

Things to consider

All applicants will complete an interview and short trial for the apprenticeship to ascertain suitability. You will need a high level of interest in the hairdressing sector and understand that most of the tasks that you will complete in salon will be menial.
