What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Ensure customer orders are processed timely and accurately
  • Provide a professional and welcoming experience for customers, visitors and other stakeholders – via phone, email and walk-in
  • Effectively communicate Merrythought’s brand values and product information to the above
  • Produce quality typed internal and external/customer service communication e.g. emails
  • Day to day content admin for the website – upload new products and images, including re-sizing of images to template, amending copy etc.
  • Ensure the office and facilities are tidy and well managed
  • Monitor and maintain levels of office supplies, equipment and marketing materials e.g. sales literature – sourcing, collating quotes and ordering/reordering  
  • Some assistance with regular Health & Safety tasks
  • Digital Marketing support – uploading and scheduling social media, mailers, blogs etc
  • Assist with other marketing activity, such as printed literature, occasional events etc.
  • Carry out and collate desk-based market research
  • Note take at meetings and provide occasional PA support to the Director
  • Filing and archiving of company documents
  • Assist with customer service support within on-site shop, including cover during staff absence
  • Provide occasional support to other areas of the business as required, or during busy periods, such as helping to pack orders, count stock etc.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be completing the Level 3 Business Administrator Advanced Apprenticeship Standard with SBC Training, Shrewsbury. 

The Business Administration Apprenticeship is designed to equip participants with the fundamentals required to work in any business environment. The programme is delivered using a blend of on-line, anytime learning and expert-led classroom training covering core topics.

Throughout this Apprenticeship, participants will be supported by tutors who have worked in a business environment and have gained many years of experience and who can truly support you to develop the skills and knowledge required to work in a wide range of administrative roles.
