What will the apprentice be doing?

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Learn all aspects of print production, including printing books, catalogues & leaflets
  • Learn how to run our KBA printing presses under supervision
  • Work within a flexible team
  • Prepare paper for press
  • Load paper
  • Ensure plates are ready for the next print run
  • Ensure all consumables are topped up
  • Keep press clean and tidy
  • Operate a Windows-based system

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the qualification achieved will be a Level 2 Print Operative Standard.

You will receive wider training on technology, productivity, manufacturing and management techniques. Training will be carried out on-site.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship a role will be available as a Number 2 Printer.
