What will the apprentice be doing?

Day to day duties will include:

  • Act as a role model for children, modelling appropriate behaviour and language
  • Provide a stimulating programme of activities appropriate to age and stage of development
  • Plan, observe and reflect on activities
  • Work collaboratively with other practitioners
  • Serving food - whilst being aware of allergies
  • Make mealtimes a social occasion for the children
  • Maintain a safe environment along with the safety of the children and other practitioners
  • Complete nursery documentation such as accident and incident forms

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Early Years Educator standard:

  • Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification

Training will take place on a weekly/monthly basis at the setting with support and guidance from a designated skills coach provided by GP Strategies Training Ltd. Training will cover first aid and other relevant areas as required.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On completion of the apprenticeship programme, depending on performance and availability, you may be offered a full-time role at the nursery.

The successful candidate will undergo a DBS check before being able to start work in the nursery
