What will the apprentice be doing?

Key tasks:

  • To participate in providing activities for the residents both within the Home and with outside activities
  • Maintain people’s equality, diversity and rights, and assist the residents to maintain their independence
  • Maintain health, safety and security within the Home
  • All aspects of care provision for the residents within the Home -Enable clients to maintain and improve their mobility
  • Enable clients to eat and drink
  • Enable clients to maintain personal hygiene and appearance -Contribute to the moving and handling of clients to maximise physical comfort
  • Enable clients to access and use toilet facilities
  • Preparing residents to be examined by Health Care Professionals
  • Completing current and appropriate resident documentation which includes daily record keeping, charts and care plans
  • To attend and contribute to Team and General meetings
  • To undertake light domestic duties as required e.g., laundry, cleaning after meal service

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 2 Adult care qualification including Functional Skills in Maths and English if required

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Caring Home Groups will offer additional qualifications on completion of your apprenticeship. Potential supervision roles/management opportunities will be available for the right candidate.
