What will the apprentice be doing?

With a vast amount of knowledge of all the processes at Jenks & Cattell Engineering, the candidate will not just be able to operate the equipment, they will be invited to input cost and time saving ideas and efficiencies to the business such as faster processes, better line-ups and improved manufacturing mapping of each process for particular components.

This candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Engineer to ensure all equipment is working safely, and to the most efficient speeds possible. Ideally, the candidate will have an interest and understanding of the mechanical engineering environment and metal components.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

L3 Engineering Technician.

After a period of foundation skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)

After a further period of skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Mechatronics Maintenance Technician

Plus one of the following

  • Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Technology (QCF) – for starts up to June 2017 only
  • Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering Technologies (QCF) - for starts up to June 2017 only
  • Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) – for all starts from 1st July 2017
