What will the apprentice be doing?

Based within our London Heathrow hub, in our operational teams, your role involves the manual handling of freight, breaking and building of units in a safe, secure and efficient manner.
Key accountabilities will include;
• To assist in the building, breaking and locating freight.
• Receipt and inspection of customers freight deliveries.
• Despatch and receipt of customer freight collections.
• Accurate input of data into various systems.
• Operating equipment and machinery i.e. Forklift.
• Performance of any duties consistent with role as and when required to help department meet their objectives.
• Following procedures/ processes as required while using initiative to identify and suggest improvements.
• Ensure Health, Safety and Security standards are adhered to including completing of appropriate documentation.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Upon completing the apprenticeship - Qualification Level 2 standard, Supply chain warehouse operative

Training will take place at our London Heathrow Hub.

Contract is a fixed term 18 month contract, however the apprenticeship is 15 months allowing a further 3 months of employment to embed the skills learnt during the apprenticeship. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Specific routes that you could take is to become a cargo agent and then progress to a team leader.
