What will the apprentice be doing?

Your main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following areas:

  • Support the Marketing Executives in sourcing good news stories and collating case studies for use in publications, on the website and social media, in press releases and competition/award entries.
  • Support with the organisation, planning and coordination of College and external organisations’ events (which may entail evening attendance at certain times of the year for which time off in lieu will be agreed), acting as ambassador for the College, showcasing why students should choose to study with us, and upholding its values and standards at all times.
  • Regularly update and audit the College website and liaise with colleagues to ensure the information is accurate and correct, ensuring the highest of standards of information, language and grammar.
  • Assist the design of new publications and literature by liaising with departments, with regard to briefs and content, then designers and printers for proofs and quotes.
  • Use a range of IT software packages update various documents, databases and mailing lists.
  • Maintain Marketing administration, supporting and monitoring job requests, monitor levels of printed publications and other merchandise, reporting on stock levels and organising the management of resources to ensure adequate materials are available.
  • Research and keep-up-to-date with new marketing tools and trends, identifying opportunities to engage new audiences and increase engagement with marketing activity.
  • Uphold and promote College policies and procedures, promoting those specifically applicable to this area of work and also the College’s Equal Opportunities policy and procedure at all times.
  • Work flexibly to meet agreed deadlines and targets, as and when required.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship achieved via End Point Assessment
  • Monthly college attendance for day release at Peterborough College (PE1 4DZ) with 1-2-1 support and tutorials between classes

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Permanent full time employment may be available to the applicant following successful achievement of the apprenticeship.
