What will the apprentice be doing?

This is a varied role including:

  • Production welding
  • MIG
  • TIG
  • Brazing

In this role all disciplines will be learnt and developed in the workplace with day release to college supporting your learning.

You will work in a fast paced environment, welding assemblies in jigs/fixtures to set the position of parts.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

All apprentices undertaking this apprenticeship must achieve:

Mandatory qualifications: 

Diploma in engineering operations (skills).

Ofqual regulated.

Level of qualification: 2

Certificate or Diploma in engineering operations (knowledge).

Level of qualification: 2

Apprentices without Level 1 (or equivalent) in English and maths must ensure that apprentices achieve Level 1 and take the test for Level 2 prior to taking the end-point assessment.

End Point Assessment (EPA).

Functional Skills if required.

College attendance is required one day per week at Dudley College Campus, Advance II, Priory Rd, Dudley, DY1 4AD.

A privately owned company, established in 1966. Specialising in tube manipulation and welded assemblies. Supplying into major companies in automotive, aerospace, yellow goods, white goods, MOD, office furniture, etc. Range of equipment including MIG, TIG welding, robotic welding, CNC tube bending and end forming machines and our own in house toolroom so lots of areas to train in and develop a career in.
