What will the apprentice be doing?

The successful candidate will work with our estimation & planning teams to produce quotations, process sales orders and make them production ready.

Other duties include:

  • Work with customer supplied drawings and CAD to compile quotations for various manufacturing processes
  • Use CAD/CAM software to produce offline programs for our CNC machinery
  • Work closely with our material stores and purchasing teams to maintain stock availability
  • Assist in the preparation of paperwork for our shopfloor

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be expected to work towards the Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group.

As part of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will work towards:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)
  • Portfolio of Evidence
  • Gateway preparation
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)

As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications.
