What will the apprentice be doing?

Key responsibilities will include:

  • General housekeeping duties to ensure a tidy yard and production area
  • Assisting yard personnel with the loading of customer and company vehicles
  • Adherence to Health and Safety procedures

Your duties and responsibilities include:

  • Learn and follow transport systems and operating procedures
    Assist the transport and operations manager when required
  • Carry out duties within the transport and operations office
  • To ensure designated orders are picked & packaged as instructed by supervisor
  • To ensure calling customers receive an efficient and effective friendly service
  • To ensure stock is correctly rotated, stored & quality controlled
  • To ensure that all orders/packs are securely strapped and wrapped to allow for safe delivery
  • Ensure the yard is keep tidy to assist in the health and safety of the branch
  • To work any overtime required within the Branch to meet customer demand
  • To participate in any training required within the role
  • Carry out any other duties within the Branch as requested from time to time

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Throughout your 12-month apprenticeship programme, you will learn how to:

  • Communicate confidently to internal and external customers about the company and how it operates
  • Assist customers in exploring product ranges and alternative and complementary products and services
  • Process and record the receipt, storage, assembly and despatch of goods

Training will be given on site as you work towards your Level 2 Trade Supplier qualification.
