What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Trouble shooting and resolving customer issues
  • Installing and supporting IT solutions (on-premises and cloud solutions)
  • Liaising with third-party suppliers
  • IT infrastructure support both remotely and on-site

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Information communication technician apprenticeship standard (level 3) support technician pathway
  • Functional skills level 2 in English and maths as required
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)
  • 1 day each week at college (Blossomfield Campus)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

You will be qualified to work as an IT support technician. Development paths of interest may include level 4 apprenticeships including: cyber security technician or network engineer.

Things to consider

Work is office based with occasional travel to customer sites. Does involve occasional lifting – putting PC’s/monitors on desks or servers in racks. Ability to work well in a team is essential.
