What will the apprentice be doing?

Duties to include:

  • Answer incoming phone and email enquiries from potential applicants.
  • Manage property listings and contact interested applicants.
  • Return missed calls.
  • Book in viewings.
  • Maintain tenant database and email regarding available accommodation
  • Conduct follow up calls to get feedback from the viewings from the day before
  • Sending holding deposit agreements for electronic signature
  • Drawing up tenancy agreements.
  • Recording and electronically filing gas safety, EPC, PAT certificates into a CRM database.  
  • Optional/Opportunities -Attending networking events.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Housing and property management assistant Lvl 2

Apprentices without level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to completion of the apprenticeship and will also be required to take the tests for level 2.

On completion of the apprenticeship, apprentices will be able to apply to the following for membership:

  • Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) at Member level.
  • Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) at Associate Grade or Member Grade (depending on length of service within the sector and within the organisation).
  • Institute of Residential Property Management (IRPM) at Foundation Level or Associate Level (depending on length of service within the sector and within the organisation).

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

They will be able to progress into a different job role depending on what suits them and the needs of the business. This could be to move into lettings, property management or accounts.
