What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Being the first point of contact for internal and external telephone calls, answering enquiries in person, by phone and via email
  • Answering incoming telephone calls, transferring them on an announced basis or taking messages as necessary
    Welcoming visitors to the site, advising the correct person of the arrival of a visitor and providing refreshments when required
  • Maintaining a professional approach and conducting yourself in accordance with expectations
  • Managing incoming and outgoing post
  • Ordering office supplies and keeping the office tidy
  • Creating efficient systems for administration and keeping both electronic and physical filing systems up to date
  • Supporting database maintenance to ensure accuracy at all times and data compliance
  • Providing administrative assistance to the management team, including word processing, filing, photocopying, and scanning
  • Preparing weekly and monthly KPI reports to support the senior management team in understanding and responding to business requirements
  • Updating key documents, such as policies and procedures
    Managing diaries, scheduling meetings, and taking meeting minutes when required
  • Sending out professional communications to staff, including emails, letters, and blogs
  • Supporting the learning and development team by setting up the training room and undertaking administrative arrangements for courses, including maintaining electronic records and confirming attendance
  • Supporting the recruitment team to ensure high quality candidates are recruited
  • Maintaining complete confidentiality of all information handled

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • You will achieve an Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard via Mentoring and college day release within the week

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Eaton Home Care has a small office team of about 10 people. This means that the Business Administration Apprentice will have opportunities to be involved in a variety of administration tasks spanning a number of departments
  • The projects in which they become involved can also be steered by their administration passions, where appropriate. This will give them a wider range of options at the end of their apprenticeship
