    16 to 17 (£6 per hour) = £12,480 / 18 to 20 (£8 per hour) = £16,640 /21 to 22 (£9.50 per hour) = £19,760 / 23 and up (£10 per an hour) = £20,800

  • Working week

    Monday to Thursday - 7am to 4pm (including 2x 15 mins breaks paid & half hour unpaid lunch break). Friday – 7am to 1pm (including a 15 min paid break).

What will the apprentice be doing?

On a day-to-day basis as a Fenestration Fabricator apprentice, your tasks will include:

  • Picking & packing of materials/finished products
  • Fitting of glazing bead, gasket, EPDM
  • Application of protective material to Metal
  • Working along side skilled fabricators to learn the processes involved in the fabrication of windows doors and curtain walling
  • Crimping/ Mechanically fixing metal profiles
  • Gearing of windows/doors
  • Operating a variety of machinery to aid in fabrication, CNC, Punches, End miller ETC

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprenticeship in Fenestration consists of:

  • Intermediate Standard Apprenticeship-Fenestration Fabricator
  • Functional Skills in English & maths (Level 1/2) where applicable

All aspects of your training will be delivered on-site with your employer, & you will have regular site visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.

You will achieve a qualifcation in Fenestration Fabricator Level 2 Standard. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On completion of the level 2 Fenestration qualification, providing you show the correct skills and abilities, you will have the opportunity to progress onto a full-time position and possibly a level 3 apprenticeship.

We are looking to invest our knowledge, skills and time in the right person. This position has the potential to develop into a successful career for the right candidate with the position growing with the company.

Please be aware we work outside as well as inside on our jobs as they demand, as such you may be out in the cold for long periods of time. The work can also be physically quite demanding so please consider this before applying.

At Precision Fabrications Andover we offer bespoke metal pressings and curtain wall, door & window fabrication service for all aspects of cladding and glazing works. This include cills, reveals, folded and flat panels, bespoke brackets, and general pressings, all for use on building facades. With the company continuing to move forward in a fast paced direction and growing with new projects, developments and investment in new machinery, helping us take on new larger commercial projects.
