What will the apprentice be doing?

  • The prioritisation of orders by analysing our systems to ensure they are processed to meet set deadlines.
  • The organisation of orders into appropriate bays in readiness for shipping agent(s) collection.
  • Identifying the correct shipping agent for orders, the weighing of packages as appropriate and the documenting of package sizes and weights to prepare for shipment.
  • The picking & packing of timber and associated products to satisfy order requirements with attention to detail in regard to quality control.
  • Processing orders and conducting administration of our platforms / systems using windows & web-based software systems.
  • The replenishment of stock kept within the online sales area in order to assure speedy and efficient processing of orders.
  • It’s also important to report any shortages in packaging materials, stock or any issues with fulfilling order deadlines to the Online Sales Manager or Controller.
  • The successful candidate should also take pride in the working environment and ensure that standards of safety and housekeeping are always maintained.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprenticeship you will complete is Supply Chain Warehouse Operative - Level 2. This will be provided by NTA and you will receive coaching from a dedicated coach that will give you on site visits and virtual lessons.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Once completed this qualification you will be given the opportunity to progress on to the next level qualification. With the potential to move into a team leading role within the branch.
