What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Support user base of 50-100 Cosy employees via telephone, call logging system, e-mails and in person.
  • Office 365 console administration, including creating new users, closing off leavers, managing quarantined emails.
  • Problem solving and manage workflow
  • Set up and configuration of workstations and laptop devices for the organisation. Ensuring users can get emails on all required devices, can use the Office and 3EX apps
  • Cabling and connectivity
  • Active Directory and Google administration: create new user accounts, amend permissions, and reset network and applications passwords.
  • Perform various hardware stock check requests as advised.
  • Learn and utilise a basic level of SQL Server querying, stored procedures, scheduled jobs and SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • To meet all learning commitments of the apprenticeship as directed by your line manager or the learning/training provider. Assigned qualifications and an end point assessment must be completed. This can include presentations, portfolios, units of assessment and exams.
  • The Apprentice will carry out their duties and any ad hoc requests that come from your line manager or equivalent, with accuracy and professionalism.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

This apprenticeship is delivered through the Level 3 Information Communications Technician L3

Apprenticeship training will be delivered in a classroom environment, from the EMA Derby Hub on Siddals Road, Derby.

You will have access to modern, high performance machines, in addition to having the opportunity to explore computer hardware with expert tutors and instructors.

The qualification has core knowledge elements, before branching out into 3 pathways, which are as follows:

  • IT Support Technician
  • Network Technician
  • Digital Communications Technician

The employer and training provider will agree on which is the most appropriate pathway, and this will influence the project as part of the end-point assessment
