What will the apprentice be doing?

The apprenticeship will give you an excellent introduction to the hospitality industry, working for an incredibly supportive employer.

The job role includes the following duties:

  • Setting up the restaurant for service
  • Greeting customers, taking orders, and serving food and drink
    Ensure the efficient flow of service and standards are constantly met Communication skills to engage with colleagues and customers
  • Use and develop food & beverage knowledge to enhance the guest experience
  • Menu tasting to understand cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen processes
  • Maintain calm and organized service during busy periods
  • Organise duties to reflect changing levels of business
  • Compliance training modules; health & safety, allergens, food safety, fire marshal, COSSH, GDPR, licensing, and more.

You will receive 1:1 training & development with a senior mentor and additional food & beverage training through regular menu tasting & supplier visits.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be undertaking the Level 2 Hospitality Team Member apprenticeship (Food and Beverage pathway).

The apprenticeship will be delivered in the workplace including the off-the-job training element.

Functional Skills in maths and English will be included in the apprenticeship unless you already have exemptions. This will be discussed at interview.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

A full Level 2 Hospitality Team Member qualification Prospects: (What opportunities could there be for the apprentice at the end of their course?) Full-time kitchen or front-of-house team member positions are available depending on business needs upon completion. Our company is slowly growing, adding on average one new pub per year for the next 5 years. We have a focused workforce development plan for our employees to grow as the company grows. We would also encourage & support staff to progress to level 3 apprenticeships. A proactive mentoring system between junior and senior colleagues.
