We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic Apprentice Care Assistant to join our team. The Chestnuts is a friendly, relaxed care home in the centre of Ruskington. Small, family retirement home. Extra training will be available on the job and we have opportunities to train you as high as level 5 if you continue on with us after the apprenticeship.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Cleaning
  • Personal Care
  • Preparing meals
  • Care planning
  • Feeding

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will complete the Healthcare Support Worker Standard Level 2 Apprenticeship which is delivered in the workplace with no requirement for College attendance on a day-release basis.

You will receive the following training in addition to the Apprenticeship Standard:

  • In-house training on all company policies and procedures.
  • Fire training
  • Medication training
  • Moving and handling
  • Safeguarding
  • Infection control                      

The Apprentice will complete the Care Certificate as part of the apprenticeship.

This Apprenticeship provides an ideal grounding into the occupation and supports progression within the sector to Level 3 Senior Healthcare Worker.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Permanent employment available on successful completion of the Apprenticeship.
