What will the apprentice be doing?

Telephone support, with a remote desktop connection and sometimes on site. Windows PCs, Windows servers, printers, routers, Microsoft 365, mobile and Hosted VoIP telephony.

Horizone have an emphasis on mobile and fixed voice and data communications so, mobile phones, Hosted VoIP telephones, broadband and routers feature largely, together with associated administration.

Your duties include but will not be limited to:

  • To provide technical support to the client base via phone, remote access, email and on site
  • To help with a variety of administrative tasks
  • To communicate effectively with clients, ensuring they are up to speed with the progress of technical support / systems installations etc.
  • To care enough about the role to devise and implement solutions to ongoing issues


What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will work towards an Advanced level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship delivered by VQ Solutions. You'll have a dedicated VQ Mentor and will also be supported internally by your manager.  

During this apprenticeship, you will develop a portfolio, attend workshop sessions and have regular reviews. All apprenticeship work will be completed during working hours.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The majority of apprentices are offered full-time positions upon the successful completion of their apprenticeship.
