What will the apprentice be doing?

You may start as an apprentice but one day you could grow to become a leader and expert in your field. You will learn ‘on the job’ and get paid whilst gaining valuable work experience.

As a Multi-Skills Operative Apprentice, you will be under the guidance of a mentor. Your duties during a typical day will include repairing or renewing:

  • Wood products
  • Plumbing
  • Wall and floor tiling
  • Decoration
  • Brickwork
  • Plastering

You must have the ability to communicate with Team Members, Customers/Clients; Contract Managers and other Operatives and be willing to listen, observe and participate in a range of tasks to ensure that progress is made right from the start. 

We are looking for someone who seeks out challenges or new responsibilities and shows flexibility when priorities change. Can you show initiative, commitment, and perseverance? You could be the future of Mears.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprentice will work towards a Property Maintenance Operative Level 2 apprenticeship standard, this will be a blended delivery with a mixture of Microsoft Teams and face to face. All training will take place on site and within your working hours.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Possibility of an employment contract on completion of the apprenticeship, for the right candidate.
