What will the apprentice be doing?

To assist the Room Leader, Deputy Manager & Manager in the day to day running of the setting.

Your daily duties will include but not be limited to;

-To provide a stimulating and varied programme of play and learning opportunities
-To ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children
-To undertake a key worker role with specific children
-To work as part of a team and support colleagues
-To provide the best possible care and stimulation for the children of the setting, meeting their physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs in a non-discriminatory manner
-To liaise with parents and encourage their involvement in the aims of the setting and in all aspects of their child’s care
-To provide and maintain records as necessary and appropriate
-To support key workers and to maintain records appropriately
-To lead in activities with the children encouraging independence and self esteem
-To attend training courses, to ensure that modern innovative and forward looking practices are maintained and to allow for personal career development
-To carry out appropriate programme of activity for the under 5’s relevant to their age and stage of development in accordance to the Early Years Foundation Stage
-To assist in the domestic management of the setting ensuring that the nursery is kept safe, secure and clean at all times
-To work effectively as part of a team
-To participate fully in the daily routines of individual rooms and to follow the guidance and instructions of the senior staff
-To support, compile and maintain regular progress developmental records for key workers, making sure that records are accurate, signed and dated supported by room leader, deputy and manager
-To develop good working relationships with parents and encourage parental interest and participation in the life of the setting
-To comply with regulations stipulated by Ofsted and the Company
-To monitor and develop your own professional and personal learning needs
-To undertake further education to develop skills and experience
Any other duties from time to time to be defined by the manager

Paragon Skills is a leading national Apprenticeship training provider, supporting over 4,000 learners and 1,500 organisations.
