What will the apprentice be doing?

The day to day duties involved in the administration role will include:

  • Performing cashier duties
  • Selling the post offices services to customers
  • Sorting incoming and outgoing mail
  • Processing licenses such as motor vehicle and fishing
  • Banking duties
  • Processing customer cash deposits and withdrawals
  • Managing the shop (training will be provided)
  • Understanding and using systems such as Money Gram
  • Undertake any other duties as may be required to assist in the running of the shop

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 -


Functional Skills English and Maths (Level 1 may be required)

Day release – Delivered virtually online once a month. Drop in session to College monthly also available.

15 month duration (12 month programme and 3 month end point assessment period)
