What will the apprentice be doing?

As an Apprentice Warehouse Operative you will be involved and responsible for the following tasks:

  • Loading and unloading of goods inward and outward and inspection of at all stages
  • Handling of goods in a safe and careful manner
  • Managing your workload efficiently 
  • Preparation of goods for despatch showing attention to detail and concentration
  • Meeting deadlines and prioritising workload accordingly
  • Giving assistance to customers in a polite and professional manner
  • Ensuring aisles are kept clear and goods are shelved/stored
  • Ensuring the warehouse and yard areas are kept tidy and free of rubbish
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary by the company
  • Adhering to all workplace Health & Safety procedures

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative.
  • Functional Skills Maths & English, if required.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

An opportunity for a full-time position at the end of the apprenticeship.

Things to consider

Experience working in a warehouse is an advantage but full training will be provided. A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Certification is desirable but not essential.
